Program Information
Shooting Stars Preschool at Gym Star Sports Center (GSSC) successfully combines early childhood academics with physical fitness to create an ideal learning environment that prepares kids well for kindergarten. Using the highly touted "Handwriting without Tears" curriculum, Shooting Stars Preschool instills in children a strong sense of self-discipline and enhanced self-esteem.
A critical component of our Shooting Stars program, gymnastics -- with its bilateral movements and other moves such as tumbling, has been shown in children to improve communication between the brain's two hemispheres. Daily gymnastics also creates an opportunity for gross motor skills development - further advancing a child's learning capabilities. What's more, reading relies on a balanced coordination of both brain hemispheres. The combination of reading and gymnastics is a proven winning formula for producing optimal academic performance!

Students will participate in group and individual activities designed to help them problem sove, reason and think creatively. Our hands-on classroom will support and challenge each child’s developing potential.

WHAT'S OUR GOAL
At Gym Star Sports Center we believe all children have the potential for greatness.
It is a privilege to work with and mentor today’s youth and tomorrow’s leaders, and we pride ourselves in having dedicated and passionate teachers. We believe children must be nurtured in order to achieve greatness.
At GSSC we provide a literacy based curriculum that focuses on preparing students in a wide range of subjects, including: reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and citizenship.
We understand not all children learn the same way or at the same pace, so students are exposed to a variety of teaching techniques to ensure all students not only succeed, but thrive. We also believe open play and child engagement are a necessary part in teaching children to socialize with peers.
All students are given structured and non-structured gymnastics time to explore and develop large motor skills as well as increase their confidence in sports.
